Redditch station open day a big success! |
||
The autumn sun shone brightly on a hugely successful open day at Redditch Police and Fire Station yesterday – with an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 people in attendance! Thank you to all those who came out and saw the work of your local West Mercia Police teams and our emergency services partners, including our colleagues in Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), St John Ambulance, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Emergency First Responders, anti-knife crime campaigner Pete Martin and the Community Safety Partnership to name a few. Our Chief Constable Richard Cooper, Superintendent Helen Kinrade and Inspector Rich Field and the Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Teams joined our very own mascot PD Peeler as so many children and families thronged the station. There were loads of fun activities on offer including working police cars, the chance to put a loved one in the police van custody cell (!), a Samba band, food stalls, and fairground rides, as well as demonstrations by HWFRS. Once again thanks to each and every one who came along and supported your emergency services and had so many positive things to say. We hope you enjoyed it as much as us! | ||
